As they say, content is king. But, by definition, content is contained. Can an audience feel “content” watching canned content? Or does it long to wonder and be thrilled, seduced, challenged, enlightened, enriched, and so transported by films that it forgets any limitations set forth by the silver screen and tube? Moving pictures need space to move... the viewers. Let's open the can; let's liberate them!

An accomplished film director whose career has spanned decades,  Eric Vander Borght  prefers openings to closings. He enjoys movement with a camera on his shoulder and opening his eyes and ears to explore. Over the years, he has visited some fifty countries to create his own films and films for others, including the UN, International Red Cross, European Commission, and OPCW. He has created numerous documentaries, commercials, and web/music videos that have been aired on many networks.

In several instances, Eric has collaborated closely with film directors as dramaturg and artistic advisor to assist them in structuring their stories, which has resulted in an Oscar nomination and an IDFA festival opening, among other multi-awarded films. He also enjoys sharing his deep knowledge and experience and so frequently works with others in a coaching role.

Eric usually chooses to feature the human aspects of a story. He believes that stories are core to the human experience and, projected on a screen, a safe way for viewers to leave their comfort zone and connect with others. A way to make the screen an opening...

Eric likes to wander. He wanders to wonder. And to share. Join the liberation movement of moving pictures!
